EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES:
 • Our college actively participated in 18th Pharmacy Cricket Cup Tournament in which 08 Pharmaceutical Industries and 16 Pharmacy colleges participated with an aim to enhance industry-academic interaction.

 • The blood donation camp was organized on 7th December by Mr. N. S. Vyawahare in association with Sasoon Hospital Blood Bank. About 55 bottles of blood was donated.

 • Seven guest faculties from various fileds related to pharmacy, delivered lectures on the topic of their own interest to the students.

 • Our college actively participated in 17th Pharmacy Cricket Cup Tournament in which 09 Pharmaceutical Industries and 17 Pharmacy colleges participated with an aim to enhance industry-academic interaction.

 • The interclass tournaments for more than 10 different types of sports were organized amongst boys and girls of the college.

 • The student placement cell was constituted which helped to organize campus interviews for many companies like Cipla India, Biological Evans, Borachem, Pfizer India and Serum Institute of India.

Students Achievements:
 • Total 12 students of the second batch of our Final Year B.Pharm. appeared for Gate -2001 Examination. Out of these, 09 students qualified and Ms. Dhanashree Juwale scored 98.9 % and stood 46th in the rank in Pharmaceutical Sciences at all India level. While 05 students scored more than 90 % in GATE examination.

 • Ms. Vidya Shinde from final year B. Pharm. stood 5th in University Merit List.

 • 2. "COMBINATORIAL CHEMISTRY " Indian Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, September, October 1999.
" A state level one day workshop on " Recent Advances in Pharmaceutical Sciences " was organized on Sunday, 7th March 1999. About 34 deligates from various Universities and Pharmaceutical Industries from all over Maharashtra participated in this workshop. The workshop was inaugrated by Dr. C. K. Kokate, President, Pharmacy Council of India, New Delhi.

The inaugural function was followed by Technical session in which the following speakers highlighted the subject and shared their experience with the audience.

a) Dr. V. M. Kulkarni : Prof. & Head Pharmaceutical Division, UDCT, Matunga, Mumbai - 19.

b) Dr. J. K. Lalla : Prof. & Principal K. M. Kundnani College of Pharmacy, Mumbai.

c) Dr. S. L. Bodhankar : Professor in Pharmacology Poona College of Pharmacy, Erandwane, Pune - 38.

d) Dr. M. A. Ayangar : Prof. & Head Pharmacognosy Dept. Medical College, Manipal.

EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES :
The Industrial visit for B. Pharm. students was arranged on 28th & 29th January 1999 to Litaka Pharmaceutical and Emcure Pharmaceuticals Bhosari, Pune. Our college actively participated in 15th Pharmacy Cricket Cup Tournament in which 09 Pharmaceutical Industries and 14 Pharmacy colleges participated with an aim to enhance industry-academic interaction.

 • Dr. (Mrs.) Smita Singhania, Lecturer in Pharmaceutical Microbiology actively participated in 3rd National Convention of All India Pharmacy Teachers Association, held at Karad on 7th & 8th March 1997. " The following minor research projects were submitted to UGC for the research grant:

 • 3. Development and design of Sustained Release paediatric formulation of an anti-epileptic drug, Carbamaazepin " : By Mrs. A. R. Madgulkar for Rs. 45,000/-.

 • A state level one day workshop on " Recent Advances in Pharmaceutical Chemistry " partly sponsored by University of Pune was organized on Sunday, 25th January 1998. About 30 deligates from various Universities and Pharmaceutical Industries from all over Maharashtra participated in this workshop. The workshop was inaugrated by Dr. S. S. Kadam, Dean, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences. Pune University. The inaugural function was followed by Technical session in which the following speakers highlighted the subject and shared their experience with the audience.

EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES:
 • The Industrial visit for B. Pharm. students was arranged on 28th & 29th January 1998 to it Crossland Laboratories, Sun Pharma, and Miami Pharmaceuticals located at Jejuri. An Industrial Tour to Goa for second year students was also arranged in the Month of February 1998.

Our college actively participated in 14th Pharmacy Cricket Cup Tournament in which 08 Pharmaceutical Industries and 09 Pharmacy colleges participated with an aim to enhance industry-academic interaction.

Our college also celebrated National Pharmacy Week during which free health check-up and drug distribution camp were arranged at Alandi and Dehu Road. During these camps medicine worth of Rs. 45,000/- was distributed to poor and needy people under the supervision of Doctors. One day technical session had also been arranged to make the students aware with ISO-9000 and Intelectual Property Right Act.

INTRODUCTION:
a) Proposal for establishment of new college that is AISSMS College of Pharmacy from the year 1995 to 1996 on dated 23 - 02 - 1995.

b) AICTE New Delhi granted approval to All India Shri Shivaji Memorial Society, Shivaji Nagar, Pune - 411 005 for establishment of AISSMS College of Pharmacy, vide its letter No. F-140-39-135(P)/ET/96. dated 30/05/1996.

c) Technical Education Department, Mumbai, granted approval to AISMS College of Pharmacy, vide its letter No. 2/NGC/1996/33895 dated 29th August 1996.

d) University of Pune, granted permission to start new degree college of Pharmacy, at Pune - 411 001, from the academic year 1996 - 1997, vide its letter No. C/367 dated 12/03/1997.

STAFF

Principal and Teaching:
a) Dr. R. S. Gaud took over the charge of Principal on 23rd August 1996 at the same time following staff members were also appointed. 1) Mrs. A. R. Madgulkar

3) Mr. C. M. Jangme

However because of personal reasons, Dr. R. S. Gaud left the post in December 1996. Dr. K. G. Bothara became the next Principal of the college.

National Pharmacy Week Celebrations:
The National Pharmacy Week was celebrated from 17th November 1996, by the pharmaceutical society of AISSMS college of Pharmacy. The aim of this celebration is the popularization of pharmacy profession and its contribution to the community. The Society was fortunate enough to get the consent of eminent scientist in the field of pharmacy.

Dr. D. P. Jindal, Professor, Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chandigarh University, Chandigarh to grace the inaugral function. A press conference was held at 10.30 am on 17th November 1996, the first day of the celebration.

The inaugural function was blessed by another important personality of the development of the present structure of technical education, Dr. B. B. Chopne, Director of Technical Education Maharashtra State. A well known academician Dr. Subhash Chaturvedi, Head of the Department of Pharmacy, SGSITS, Indore and Dean, faculty of Technology, Devi Ahilya Vishwa Vidyalaya, Indore, presided over the function.

On the second day of the week a free health check-up and drug distribution camp was organized at Malewadi, Tal : Haveli Dehu. The camp was inaugurated by Dr. Sabnish, District Health Officer, Pune.

Drug worth Rs. 15 - 20 thousand were received free of cost from viz-nulife pharmaceutical, Eisen Pharmaceutical, Vindas Chemicals India Pvt. Ltd. Bombay, Bombay Ideal Product India, Indore, JohnsonsLaboratories Indore, Noble Drug, Indore, Vishal Pharmaceutical Bombay, Daymark pharmaceuticals, Bombay, Albert David Ltd. Ghazibad, Bright Drug Industries, Indore.

On the third day an information centre for pharmacy profession and education was organized in the morning session and approximetely hundred students and parents visited.

An Eassy Competition was conducted at all India level on the topic " Pharmacist in tune with the time " The first prize of Rs. 700/- for this competition was awarded to Mr. T. Senthikumar of the institute of pharmaceutical technology. Anamalai University, Annamalai Nagar and the second prize of Rs. 500/- was awarded to Mr. Dinesh D. Pardeshi of NDMVP Samajs College of Pharmacy, Nashik.
