Library Resources
 
    The library has a very good collection of books; periodicals and journals related to pharmacy and allied sciences. It has two sections that is reference and issue section. At present library has approximately 4000 books worth Rs.37 lakhs which includes valuable titles from the various subjects like Quality assurance, Pharmaceutics and Pharmaco-kinetics, Medicinal chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical chemistry (Inorganic & Organic), Biochemistry, BioTechnology, Microbiology, Molecular biology, Pharmacognosy, Pharmacology, Pathology, Anatomy &Physiology, Physical Pharmacy. Along with traditional subjects, we have few selected titles on Gene cloning, AIDS & HIV, Chemotherapy, cosmetics etc. from well known Indian as well as foreign publishers.
     Some of the important Journals received are Journal of Medicinal Chemistry, Journal of pharmaceutical sciences, European Journal of Medicinal Chemistry; Accreditation and Quality assurance, Asian Journal of Chemistry.

Library Services
 
In order to satisfy the user needs the library provides the following services
 
1. Computerized library :
The library has two computers (networked) along with bar code scanner and special Library software. It provides OPAC (On-line Public Access Catalogue) to serve the patrons effectively.

2. Reference service:
This section is open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. except on Sundays. It has a copy of all the materials procured by the library and it is for use within the library only.
 
3. Borrowing service:
This section has a collection of all the textbooks and other important reference materials. They are issued out of the library for a period of five days. The section works from 10.30 a.m. to 12.00 noon and 2.00 p.m. to 3.30 p.m.
 
4. Overnight borrowing:
The collection of the reference section is for use within the library only. But even they are issued out everyday half an hour before closing i.e. at 5.30 p.m. They should be returned the immediate next day before 9 a.m. If not, a fine of Rs. 5 per book per hour will be collected.
 
5. Reprographic service:
Photocopying services (xerox) are provided on payment of Rs 1 per page.
 
6. Book bank scheme:
Certain very useful books are issued for the whole academic year. They should be returned on or before the last final theory exam. The details will be announced separately at the time of issue every year.
